Our wonderful teachers have university qualifications in Early Childhood Education and are registered with the Queensland College of Teachers. Our assistant, Vicki Allen, has a Certificate III and has been working at Manly Community Kindergarten for over 22 years. All staff have Senior First Aid/CPR, Anaphylaxis/Asthma Management training and hold Blue Cards. In order to keep up to date with current best practice in early childhood education, our teachers engage in a range of professional development experiences and go ‘above and beyond’ to give their very best to the children in their care.

Gill Taylor- Director, Teacher (Blue and Red Group)

It is with great personal excitement that I took over as teacher/director of Manly Kindy in July 2017. Inquiry, exploration and creativity have been the guiding principle in my career in early childhood education from the outset; yet, with over thirty years of experience with ‘little people’, my passion for providing an exciting child centred, exploratory environment is stronger than ever.

I consider myself lucky to have taught and worked in many diverse roles; Head Teacher and early years Masters lecturer in England, Primary school teacher in Cyprus, Indonesia, NSW and Queensland, Nursery teacher in Hong Kong and England and Family Day Care coordinator in NSW.

Manly Kindy delivers opportunities for all children and families to gain lasting happy memories. We pride ourselves on using our wonderful environment, both inside and out to stimulate their minds, give them pathways towards resilience and confidence whilst keeping the importance of good manners, kindness and tolerance towards others as part of our daily routine.

The close community of our beautiful Kindy provides outstanding care for our children and the love, warmth and energy is felt each and every day.

Vicki Allen – Teacher’s Assistant (Blue and Red Groups)

My work as the teacher’s assistant at Manly Community Kindergarten began in 1995. These years at the kindy have been incredibly rewarding.  My passion in this job is to provide children with an inviting environment where they can feel safe and secure while nurturing them to become more confident and resilient. I believe in providing play experiences that give children the opportunity to develop their fullest potential and to learn to “have a go”, helping them navigate the social and emotional terrain of their age.  The best part of this job is to see the look on a child’s face when they have achieved even the smallest thing.
